Open Hearted
What do we mean when we say that we are a community that tries to be Open Hearted? Open Hearted means that we as a church choose to give our time, skills and resources to others – both inside our community and outside it. Our church services are able to happen because our church community volunteer to set-up Napier Hall, manage the audio and visual equipment during the service, play instruments and sing, lead the service and prepare talks. Members of our church community voluntarily run the Horndean and Clanfield Food Bank and the Toddler Group that meets at Napier Hall on Wednesdays.
Our church is funded through the generosity of its members and attendees. This pays for: the rent of Napier Hall, the resources we use, our minister, our Community Work Co-ordinator, and other activities and projects.
From these financial gifts and other offerings we also support the organisations we partner with:
The Baptist Union of Great Britain and NI
BMS World Mission
Enable the Children
Home for Good
In 2023 we gave 17% of our annual income to these other organisations.
Why be Open Hearted? It is because God has been so generous with us and so we want to follow His example and do likewise.
