Close to God 

Horndean Baptist wants to be a church that is Close to God, but what do we mean by this? As Christians when we say that we want to be close to God, this means that we allow our lives to be shaped by the teaching of Jesus and that we try to live in accordance with them. We believe that all Christians are vessels of the Holy Spirit, who is at work within us, helping us to be that little bit more like Jesus. As a church this means that we commit to reading the Bible (to learn more about God and how he would have us live) and prayer (communicating with God) both individually and when we are together.
